This piece of work was made using a technique called marquetry, which is the art of using different species of wood with various grains and colors. It is signed Nelson in the bottom right corner.
"Creation begins when a rough sketch is refined into a precise line drawing. Then, the woods are carefully chosen, cut, assembled, cemented and pressed onto a panel. This picture has a hand rubbed teak oil finish. For care, oil twice a year with lemon oil."
